The Polish Sugar Factory

This is such a fond memory of the Polish countryside. We had driven around England and Wales and were on our way through Europe up to Gdansk in Poland. Suddenly I see a giant brick building that needs to be examined.

My ex stays in the car while I take the camera and go on a journey of discovery. After a while, a man similar to Luigi comes from Super Mario. He only speaks Polish and I speak English but we still manage to communicate. I understand that it is a disused sugar factory that is now owned by a Russian company that has plans to rebuild the factory into a hotel.

I ask if it’s ok for me to walk around and take pictures and he nods. After a while he comes back with a big key. He opens the factory and shows me around! A wonderful urbex memory and I finally got to take a picture of him. 🙂
