Söderby Sanatorium

Söderby was built between 1907 – 1910 and was the largest Sanatorium in Sweden. It was a tuberculosis hospital and the lung clinic was closed in the early 70’s. Then it was a long-term care clinic until it closed in 1988.

It was empty and fell into disrepair until it was converted into housing during 205 – 2007. In connection with the renovation, several buildings were also demolished and all culverts were filled again.

I lived pretty close to Söderby at that time and spent a lot of time there with my camera.
